love you like a love song

I meant to have this post up, weeks ago but I wasn't able to find my usb for my camera. Anyways, March 1st was my anniversary with my boyfriend. It's a huge deal for me seeing as it's the longest relationship I have ever had! To celebrate we decided to head to the mall and ended up shopping for one another. This was a dream come true! Kelsang hates shopping. :(  He detests going with me to any mall because I can honestly just browse for hours on end without buying a single thing. He is more of a see it, like it, buy it type of person while I need to check all the other stores just in case they have something better. Haha, can anyone else relate?

While we were shopping we stopped at Aritzia and I pointed out two bustiers that I have been longing for. One black and floral and the other white. Ever since I bought the two other bustiers during the sale, I have been feigning for more. I love the Talula one because it's form fitted but padded so I don't even have to wear a bra. Lol, which makes it super comfy in my opinion. He also bought me black Toms because I definitely do believe they are a must have for the coming warmer months. I've been wanting to wear them out but it's still pretty drudgy in Toronto. Lastly, he bought me a Michael Kors bag. I was honestly in disbelief as we walked in the store. As he told me to pick out a bag, my jaw dropped. I couldn't even decide!

I decided to go with the Jet Set chain medium tote. It's pretty much a bag I can use everyday that's big enough to carry my wallet, camera and make up bag while not that big to carry any school things. Basically a perfect, pretty bag for me. <3

My presents on the top, the present for my boyfriend on the bottom.

I'm absolutely in love with it! I plan to cherish it forever haha. It's really deepening my love for bags. The next one I have on my list is a large Longchamp le Pliage bag.

They have been around for a while but I've never able to get my hands on one of them. It seems like a very versatile and sturdy bag meant for school which is what I really plan on using this bag on. I do not agree to much with the price haha, but I have been eyeing a couple on ebay. I'll probably wait it out and purchase one from the site.

Back to my anniversary, to top off the gifts Kels took me out to a fancy dinner at the CN tower. He basically surprised me and told me to "look pretty". Most of my clothes are at my mom's house so I didn't even have a huge selection of clothes to choose from. So, I don't think I matched him in attire at all. Kelsang looked really spiffy haha. He took me in a cab and basically blind folded me during the whole ride. (Nauseating to say the least) My heart pretty much melted as I saw the CN tower. I had been talking about dining there with him forever and I was so glad he listened.

happy times

I had a great weekend! On Friday, I was finally able to catch up with my cousin, Joselle. We are a lot like sisters but over the year have not been as close. It was so nice to just go out with her and catch up. We went out for lunch and shopped. I was super pissed I couldn't splurge a little because the bank was holding a cheque I deposited. :( But I was lucky to have had enough cash on me to buy Hunter wellies!

I normally would never have splurged on these because they are pretty pricey. However, I have been lusting for them for so long and just wanted to treat myself. I can say I am very pleased with my buy. I do believe that they are very versatile. I've been wearing them everywhere this weekend. Not only are they comfy but durable as well. Something, I know I can wear for a time coming.

On Saturday, it was my mom's birthday. For lunch, my boyfriend, my mom, step dad and I went treated my mom to Chinese food. My mom's favourite take out. We also had a little dinner party where we ate food and sang karaoke. Typical Filipino party, haha. I was so stuffed at the end of the day. The whole day however gave me a great reason to wear my Hunters and I am so pleased with them. I do however need to invest in some socks because they get so cold. :(

OOTD: TNA Lambwool sweater, Bongo Cargos, Dolce & Gabanna Leather Jacket, Hunter Wellies.

My step dad actually does not live in Canada. He and my mom were in a long distance relationship before they got married. He actually lives in Wisconsin so Sunday was his last day in Toronto. We spent it sight seeing and the must when you visit Toronto is to see the CN tower. It was such a funny experience as both my mom and boyfriend are scared of heights.

so high up!

losar tashi delek!

Losar Tashi Delek! (Happy Tibetan New Year)

My boyfriend is Tibetan and today marks the first time I celebrated the Tibetan new year. It is so exciting to be included in his family's celebrations. You have to wake up early and dress up to ring in the new year. Wearing new clothes is a must so I wore my lambswool sweater and the minty green bustier from Aritzia. What a great excuse for having bought them, haha.  Traditionally, Tibetans dress up in "chupas" which is their national dress. They are gorgeous!

Bright, floral chupas.

I really want a chupa. I think it's because I'm trying so hard to embrace Kelsang's culture, lol. I adore Tibetan and Nepali food and I am slowly trying to learn how to speak Tibetan. I really do hope I have the chance to adorn a chupa. A chupa is gorgeous! So colurful and elegant reminiscent to a kimono.

Ah, the kimono! I really want one but I have never stumbled across where I am comfortable paying for it. I know Aritzia probably sells one but I'm going to assume it's over 100+ because of it's silk material. For now I will admire them from a far.

L to R (top first) : Spun by Subtle Luxury ($95 from piperlime.gap.com), Temperley London Rosine ($1220 from net-a-porter.com), Stuble Luxury ($120 from farfetch.com), H&M ($30), Sass & Bide ($660 from harveynichols.com), Hibiscus print ($120 from Topshop)  created by myself on polyvore

Most of the kimonos in the set are definitely far from my grasp. My favourites are the Temperley London kimono and the Hibisus print from Topshop. I love how diverse they can be as well. Ranging from a long kimono to a short one. Although, I do find myself a floral loving girl a kimono would be beautiful in an any print such as an animal print (H&M). If you know where to get them for cheap let me know! <3

family weekend

The weekend that just past was family weekend! I spent it with my mom and boyfriend. We headed over to Promenade just to browse. Living in downtown Toronto, Promenade mall is a place I hardly visit because it is in Vaughan, which just isn't the most accessible mall. Occasionally, I do go for the restaurant "Congee Star" or to go grocery shopping at "T&T" (the best Asian supermarket!) But, I have never walked through the mall to actually shop.

The first store I love to browse whenever I go shopping is Aritzia. I adore their clothing and would buy everything if it wasn't so expensive. All their clothing is just at a price I can not afford. However, right now they are holding their "snooze you lose" sale. Which makes Fall and Winter merch 50-70% off. I managed to snag a camel lambswool sweater and two bustiers in a minty colour and a dark blue. Normally the price for just the sweater is around 90.00 with tax but because of the sale I got all items for under 90.00! I'm also so fortunate for my mom who paid for everything! :3

My boyfriend bought himself a charger for his PS3 controllers. At first, EB Games was sold out of the Sony chargers and the only one they had left were these 19.99 ones. However, we decided to look around and scored a charger for only 4.98! My mom also picked for herself two tank tops from Sears which cost her less than one bustier. Haha, I guess I inherit the thriftiness from my mom.

Wilfred Bustiers both 17.50, regular price 35.00 & TNA Lambswool Sweater 42.50 regular price 82.00 (or something like that)

greetings ~

Hello!

I've always wanted to start a blog but never really found the "time" or really "effort" into starting one. I am now determined to have this go off without a hitch. I do have tumblr and a livejournal. However, I don't find tumblr to be a real blogging website and I only use livejournal as a way of venting really suppressed emotions. I want this to be a new, updated frequently page where I can just blog about things I like, such as fashion or just my every day life.

I think the name pretty simple sums up what this blog will be generally about. Pretty yet simple things. :) Which I think might be a nicer way of saying "cheap", haha. Speaking about any future fashion posts. I am a thrifty type of person who prefers (and can really only afford) things on sale or cheaper ticket prices. I really wish I could splurge but alas I have bills to pay! :3

Enjoy!
